Howe hits out at Premier League and reveals “biggest obstacle” in our way – Watch here

Eddie Howe has hit out at the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules that forced us to sell talented youngsters Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh in June.

The boss feels it promotes the sale of young players that the club have developed, questioning why you should be rewarded for cashing in on prospects with lower ‘book value.’

Howe feels this “defies the point of financial fair play”, feeling clubs should be encouraged to keep and develop young talents; not sell them on for a quick profit.

Watch what the frustrated 46-year-old had to say on the matter below, where he told Sky Sports news that PSR is the “biggest obstacle in our way” to developing quickly as a football club:

Howe is spot on. We developed Anderson from a young lad but have been encouraged to sell him thanks to PSR. It’s a similar story for Minteh, who leaves 12 months on from his arrival and without kicking a ball for the club.
