Watch Harvey Barnes goal and Lloyd Kelly assist as Newcastle lead Brest at SJP

Newcastle United have followed yesterday’s 4-0 win over Girona with a strong start against Ligue 1 side Stade Brest, with Harvey Barnes on the scoresheet at St James’ Park to hand us a 1-0 lead.

As you can see below, the winger was picked out via Lloyd Kelly’s impressive ball from deep before cutting inside, working the space and firing past the Brest goalkeeper to put Eddie Howe’s Mags in front:

A trademark finish from Barnes and his second of pre-season after scoring in our 3-1 win over German side SpVgg Unterhaching last month.

So far, Will Osula has been a real threat up front, showing his rare mixture of pace, movement, physicality and movement, with Bruno Guimaraes pulling the strings and Kelly showing impressive distribution from the back.
