Over the past few days, rumours of Barcelona making a move for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz have been growing constantly.
The Blaugrana had been pushing to sign Nico Williams but the Spaniard looks set to continue at Athletic Club, leading to the Catalans looking for alternatives.
And, Diaz, 27, had emerged as the leading candidate that generated the most consensus at Barcelona.
In fact, it was even reported that Liverpool would be open to selling the Colombian international as talks over a new contract were not progressing.
Arne Slot rules out exit
However, now, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has come out and explicitly stated that Luis Diaz will not be leaving the club amid Barcelona’s continued interest.
“His future is with us. I’ve really liked what I’ve seen in the last ten days he’s been here and I saw the same last season,” said Slot, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

“He had a big impact on Liverpool’s season and I hope he will have a big impact on this season as well.”
This development comes as a blow for Barcelona who remain intent on signing a new left winger before the transfer window closes.
Nico Williams had been the top priority but is increasingly likely to stay at Athletic Club while Diaz, too, appears set to continue at his current club Liverpool.
Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is also an option for the Catalans and could be the most feasible one for the Blaugrana, as the Bundesliga giants would be open to sanctioning his exit.
