As reported just a while ago, Barcelona have entered the race to sign Liverpool youngster Stefan Bajcetic on a season-long loan deal.
The Blaugrana, rocked by the season-ending injury to Marc Bernal, want the 19-year-old Spanish youngster and have already sent an offer for a plain loan deal with no option, even throwing in €4 million as loan fee.
RB Salzburg are also interested in signing Bajcetic and had made an offer earlier this week, which makes things complicated as the Austrians may be in a better position to offer him more minutes.
Barcelona call Bajcetic directly
As such, in order to ensure that Bajcetic chooses them over RB Salzburg, the Catalans have directly made contact with the Liverpool midfielder, reports Mundo Deportivo.
As things stand, Bajcetic is attracting a lot of interest, with several clubs from La Liga also understood to be chasing the former Celta Vigo academy man apart from Barcelona.
Meanwhile, RB Salzburg have been chasing the Liverpool starlet’s signing for weeks now and had everything planned out to sign him until Barcelona entered the picture.
The Catalans are understood to have directly called Bajcetic to try and convince him to choose them over the other interested parties.
While efforts are being made to sign him up, Barcelona must also ensure that they have enough Fair Play margin to sign and register the youngster. Failure to guarantee that could see the 19-year-old opt for a different destination.
