Everton will hope to spark some life into what has been a shambolic start to the Premier League season when they visit Aston Villa tomorrow.
Sean Dyche’s men have yet to register a point and were on the receiving end of abuse from angry supporters following their last away game – a 4-0 pasting at Tottenham.
They followed that up by squandering a 2-0 lead against Bournemouth after 87 minutes to lose 3-2.
Add in continued uncertainty around the club’s ownership and it paints an unhappy picture for the blue half of Merseyside.
Villa are in a much better place despite fan unrest at the price of tickets for their forthcoming Champions League campaign.
Unai Emery’s side have won both their away games in the Premier League so far – at West Ham and Leicester – but lost their only home game, against Arsenal. Their European adventure starts in midweek when they play Young Boys.
