Loan watch: Promising Barcelona defender impresses on debut with an assist

Barcelona loanee Alex Valle recently marked his first appearance for Celtic in an impressive 5-2 victory over Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup. 

The young left-back, a product of Barcelona’s esteemed academy who extended his contract before moving to Celtic, made an immediate impact, playing a key role in the team’s performance. 

Starting in his natural position on the left, Valle provided a crucial assist that helped level the score, showcasing his ability to adapt quickly to the competitive nature of Scottish football.

A much-awaited debut

Having spent four matches adjusting to Celtic’s style and tactical demands, Valle finally earned his debut in the opening round of the Scottish League Cup. His performance did not disappoint, with fans and pundits praising his contributions. 

It must be noted that Celtic’s attack struggled early in the match as Falkirk took an early lead in the 11th minute. Valle found himself slightly held back by the opposition winger, which allowed Ross MacIver to finish from just outside the box, putting Falkirk ahead.
