After Manchester City dropped points at Newcastle in the early match, there was plenty on the line for some of the teams across England.

Arsenal had the chance to draw level with their rivals, while Chelsea could put the pressure on with a win against Brighton.

It was also a big afternoon for teams near the bottom, with West Ham and Everton in particular desperate for some points.

Arsenal survived a serious scare against Leicester at the Emirates.

Having led 2-0 at half-time thanks to strikes from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, the Foxes pulled it back to 2-2 thanks to James Justin’s brace.

But Trossard struck again in the 94th minute and Kai Havertz added another in the 99th to ensure the Gunners kept pace with Manchester City.

It will be a painful memory for Leicester, who felt hard done by with the extended amount of stoppage time in North London.

Bryan Mbeumo struck again to give Thomas Frank’s side the lead.

But Tomas Soucek hit back in the second half, earning the Hammers a crucial point under Julen Lopetegui.

Chelsea 4-2 Brighton

It was absolute chaos at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Cole Palmer scored four goals in the first half, taking his tally for the season to seven already.
