Three Lions look to recover from SHOCK loss

England will look to bounce back quickly from a shock loss against Greece on Thursday by claiming three Nations League points away at Finland this coming Sunday.

The Three Lions lost 2-1 at Wembley thanks to two goals from Vangelis Pavlidis, with Jude Bellingham scoring for the home side.

Finland lost 2-1 versus the Republic of Ireland.

In September, they lost both Nations League matches 3-0 against Greece and 2-0 against England. In their last three, they’ve scored just a single goal.

Finland have no fresh injury concerns since the loss against Ireland, but Leo Walta, Rasmus Schuller, Top Keskinen and Joel Pohjanpalo were all withdrawn at various points in the game so could be replaced, though Pohjanpalo did score the consolation.

But, the surprise loss versus Greece on Thursday has hurt his chances of gaining the head coach job permanently – if he wanted it.

There’s a fresh injury concern for England after Bukayo Saka limped off against Greece clutching his thigh. Carlsey has confirmed that the player was taken off as a precaution, but it is highly unlikely we’ll see him feature here.

Harry Kane wasn’t in the squad on Thursday as he nurses an ankle knock, but could make himself available again.

Kobbie Mainoo, Ezri Konsa and Morgan Gibbs-White all withdrew from the squad before the Greece game.
