Three Newcastle gamers named in BBC pundits Premier League Staff of the Week

BBC pundit and former Watford striker Troy Deeney has named Dan Burn, Joelinton and Alexander Isak in his Premier League’s staff of the week following our 3-1 win towards Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle dominated the second half of Sunday’s recreation and totally deserved the victory due to some good performances, loads of possession, a return to our all-action fashion and a few very good ending as we hit Forest on the break.

Right here’s what Deeney needed to say on all three Mags after naming them in his TOTW for the BBC:

Deeney on Dan Burn – “Two old school English centre-halves this week and so they have been each glorious and did their jobs so nicely. Forest’s Chris Wooden has been the striker of the 12 months to this point and Burn put him to job. He did such an excellent job that Wooden solely had one contact within the Newcastle field.”

Deeney on Joelinton – “Everybody retains forgetting that Joelinton got here as a striker and recreation upon recreation, season upon season he simply will get higher and higher as a midfielder. He’s a giant, sturdy bodily specimen who scored a superb aim however I like the entire approach he conducts himself. He will get after folks, and he’s not afraid to make a deal with.”

Deeney on Isak – “A primary time within the staff this season for Isak. He obtained a aim and an help towards Forest and had nice link-up play. He might have scored one other one within the second half as nicely. When Newcastle have been up towards it he went ‘proper, watch this’. He can flip it up a stage and dragged his staff with him.”

After going 1-0 down within the first half, it was Isak who levelled issues up with a cool end after Sean Longstaff challenged for a header from a nook 10 minutes after the break.

It was then wave after wave of assault from the Magpies which noticed Joelinton hearth what Deeney described as an ‘glorious’ curled effort into the again of the web to ship us into the lead after 72 minutes.

Burn had a stable recreation on the again for us, although given Lewis Corridor’s efficiency within the recreation driving us up the pitch it does really feel barely harsh that the 20-year-old didn’t get a glance into Deeney’s staff.
