Mulumbu urges Arsenal, Bayern and PSG to cancel Go to Rwanda sponsorship

February 13 – Former DR Congo captain Youssouf Mulumbu has waded into the controversy over soccer golf equipment sponsoring Go to Rwanda by calling on them to rethink the partnership. 

Final week the Democratic Republic of Congo authorities urged Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain to finish their “blood-stained” sponsorship offers due to the continuing battle within the area. 

Rwanda’s infamous M23 insurgent group not too long ago captured Goma, the most important metropolis in jap DR Congo and an space which is house to profitable gold, coltan and tin mines. The preventing between M23 and Congolese troops has led to a string of human rights violations. 

“The scenario could be very, very onerous and really painful, and all this battle is predicated on finance,” ex-PSG midfielder Mulumbu advised the BBC World Service. “It’s not a non secular or territory battle. It’s a monetary battle and folks have to know that. 

“I obtained a lot of messages from pals who’re dwelling in Goma. They only inform me they’re dwelling in concern. 

“There are children dwelling with out their mother and father, ladies being raped and burnt in jail. The scenario over there may be unbelievable.” 

“All I do know is that on a sponsorship, there’s a monetary half. I believe it is going to be a giant step if we are able to cancel this Go to Rwanda [partnership].”
